The shortlist for the 2014 Sony World Photography Awards has been announced, having been narrowed down from some 139,000 submissions by photographers from 166 countries. This year the winning entries, together with the grand prize of L'Iris d'Or will be announced on 30 April at an awards ceremony in London. All of the winning images will be on display at Somerset House from 1 to 18 May.
